We believe music heals, communicates, fosters cooperation, and enjoyment.
The connection between music, body, and soul improves physical and mental health.
We believe the benefits of musical activities and participation are success in school,
in the community, and in life. We offer ways to develop those benefits.

KIDS IN TUNE brings music and its healing power to children of all ages who are without access to music in their lives. Through music, these classes not only develop their creative musical abilities, but also their listening skills, body coordination, ability to follow directions, and self-confidence with others. The children use their singing voices and play instruments to participate in singing games and dramatic play.

For children with disabilities, music motivates through vocalization, socialization, and self-confidence. Children in crisis feel safe and confident to share and explore their creative talents.

M.O.M.'S JOYFUL VOICES is a choir for school-aged children with disabilities. We want ALL kids, even if they are nonverbal, to experience the joy of a performance-based activity. We will practice 2x a month, and then perform at community events. For information, please email:

Dance to the Music

Dance and movement improve the mental and physical well-being of a person. It focuses on the connection between the mind and body to promote health and healing. By combining music and movement, we will:

  • Reduce stress

  • Improve mobility and muscle coordination

  • Improve relationships with others

  • Gain an outlet for communicating feelings

  • Build self-confidence

Dance and movement can be used in a variety of settings for people who have social, emotional, cognitive, or physical concerns. Through dance, people can identify and express their emotions, develop a more positive body image, and decrease isolation and depression. Dance can help people stay physically fit and enjoy the pleasure of creating rhythmic motions with their bodies. Our instructors work with both individuals and groups.

programs for Veterans

VOICES FOR VETERANS serves those who serve! Our own musicians go into VA hospitals to perform for our veterans.

Studies show that nearly half of the veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder are also depressed. People who are depressed have low rates of pleasant activities, and their mood improves with increases in pleasant activities.

Listening/Singing familiar songs is a source of stimulation and interaction, and promotes engagement in an activity.

VOICES FOR VETERANS gives our veterans a way to:

  • Decrease depression and isolation

  • Express inner feelings

  • Tap into memories and emotions

Delivering Restorative Energy to our Warriors

Project DREW brings songwriters and veterans together for private two-day workshops to capture stories of service through music. The songs are recorded and shared through CDs, concerts, and social media in order to build awareness of the challenges faced by our returning service members.

If you are a veteran or know a veteran who wants to participate in DREW, our upcoming workshops in 2019 are:

  • February 9, 10

  • March 9, 10

  • April 6, 7

  • May 18, 19

  • September 28, 29

DREW is named in honor and memory of Drew Ferguson. Drew served in US Special Operations as a Team Leader in Special Forces where he completed combat tours in Afghanistan. He deeply treasured the rare opportunity to lead and work with men who shared his values, work ethic, and love of Country. Prior to becoming a Green Beret, Drew was an Infantry Officer who served a fourteen month combat tour in Iraq with the 10th Mountain Division and was an Airborne Army Ranger. He received three Bronze Stars for his leadership and actions during combat operations. Although he was deeply proud of his service and all that it demanded of him, Drew poured his soul in to every part of life. He was an accomplished painter, a poet, musician, and adventurer. He treasured his large family and was gratefully a Son of Avon Lake who had Cleveland roots. As he traveled the world, he composed countless songs, poems, and tributes about the life he lived, those roots, and those who touched his life. Drew touched and inspired so many lives, and served our Nation with love, humility, and Intensity.

Seniors in Symphony

SENIORS IN SYMPHONY is a program for nursing home residents to provide relaxation, decrease stress, and bring a more positive state of mind.

Persons with dementia, among other symptoms, often suffer from aphasia and amnesia, which makes verbal communication very difficult, sometimes confusing, and often anxiety provoking. Singing is a source of stimulation and interaction, an alternative method of communication, and promotes engagement in an activity, as well as interaction with another human being.

Singing familiar songs with seniors will provide a way to:

  • Contain and express inner feelings

  • Interact with another person

  • Help memory

  • Tap into memories and emotions

In addition, we take a drum circle to nursing homes. Drumming improves circulation in the hands and body, loosens stiff joints in the shoulders, arms and wrists, and stimulates the mind. Residents report improvement in general coordination, walking, speaking, sleeping, and thought process, and experience a boost in self-esteem and overall confidence.
